Welcome to our new Club and Section News page!  Skate Ontario invites all Skating Clubs and Sections to send us important announcements to share with the Ontario skating community!

All posts will be made to this page, with the newest entries at the top.  To have your announcement appear on this page (and be promoted on our Facebook and Twitter social media accounts), you must email the following to publicrelations@skateontario.org:

Innovation Synchronized Skating Team is looking for a Coach

The INNOVATION Synchronized Skating Team from Thorold, Ontario is currently seeking a coach for the 2017/2018 skating season. The position available is within the adult program. The successful candidate must be energetic, highly motivated and have a strong sense of choreography. The coach must be able to foster a positive training environment through their dedication, organization, and passion for synchronized skating.

Gananoque Skating Club is looking for a coach

The Gananoque Skating Club is actively seeking a certified coach for our StarSkate program for the upcoming 2017/2018 season. We are looking for a higher level coach that is trained in all 3 disciplines (skills, dance, freeskate) and the new Star 1-5 program. 

We invite enthusiastic, dedicated coaches who are confident and able to communicate professionally with skaters, parents, other coaches and the executive board. All applicants must enjoy working with skaters of all ages and skill levels. 

Minimum requirements: 
NCCP level 1 and 2 (or working on level 2)
Current first aid
Skate Canada member 
Current criminal background check

Mississauga Figure Skating Clubs seeks Technical Program Director

The Mississauga Figure Skating Club is looking for a dedicated Technical Program Director. We are looking for an individual who has strong Leadership, Technical, Stakeholder Management, Communications and Interpersonal Skills with experience in planning, scheduling and managing Skating Club Programs and Coaches.

This is a contract position with initial contract period of 24 Months, and an option to extend for another 24 Months. The estimated work time is about 30 hours/week, excluding coaching. The MFSC Technical Program Director works closely with the Club Bookkeeper/Administrator and reporting to the MFSC Board of Directors, providing the Club with Development, Marketing, Promotion, Implementation and the Day-to-Day Program Management functions, including Leadership and Technical Expertise.

Oh Canada 150:From Coast to Cote

Together We CanSkate for another 150 years

April 1st, 2017

The Georgetown skating club is hosting a day of skating in celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday. The day will include on ice demonstrations from local Ice Sport organizations including speed skating, girls hockey, our Junior hockey team and figure skating. The Demonstration is followed by on ice learn to skate sessions from each organization and an open skate. The day concludes with our Ice Show, a Canadian Rail trip through the years and provinces set to all Canadian content music.

Toronto Ice Dance Weekend – Feb 24-26, 2017

It is our pleasure to announce that Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje, our Canadian Champions, will be joining us this year! They are incredible role models for ice dancing and it is wonderful to have them support our Skate For Life activity. Come have a blast with us at the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club. Social Ice Dancing is FUN.
