Mackenzie Bent, 14, Uxbridge, Ont., and Garrett MacKeen, 17, Oshawa, won the bronze medal at their ISU Junior Grand Prix debut. This, the 4th stop of the Grand Prix series, took place September 22-24 in Brasov, Romania.
After the Short Dance, they sat in second position with 50.87 points. They earned 69.82 points in the Free Dance, giving them 120.69 overall and 3rd place. It was a very tight race, with only 0.66 points separating silver and bronze.
Peter O’Brien, 17, from Ameliasburgh, finished 9th in the men’s event. He was 4th in the short program with a score of 55.69, 11th in the free program with 90.53, ending up at 9th overall and a grand total of 146.22.
